Sarah Nic Lochlainn
Sarah became General Manager in March 2018. Sarah is studying a Masters in Business Administration at London School of International Business. She holds BA international in French and Italian. As well as working as a secondary school teacher, she previously ran her own food business for 11 years and worked as strategic advisor to start-ups.
Sarah thinks that opportunity should be equally available to everyone and believes in the power of education to help people overcome obstacles and inequalities. Young people should feel safe and valued in a learning environment. She uses her skills and experience to help young people find their path to the workplace through education and training.
Ciara Fahey was the first member of the BCTC team and began working with the organisation as the Higher Clerical Officer in December 2009. Ciara has over 15 years’ experience working in administration, accounts and payroll. Ciara enjoys every day she spends working with the young people of Blanchardstown and gets great personal and professional satisfaction from her position.
Gemma Cassidy commenced her position as Information Technology/Office Skills Instructor in May 2010. Gemma holds an Honours Degree in Education and Training with Dublin City University, Joint Examining Board Teaching Diploma in Information Technology, City and Guilds Quality Inspectors Award and various qualifications in the subject of I.T. Gemma has a number of years’ experience teaching this subject to a variety of learners.
Simon McCabe began as Sports Instructor in May 2012. Simon has an Honours Degree in PE/Sports and Exercise Science and Communication Studies from the University of Chester, England. Simon has spent the last four years working with a diverse range of learners in schools and training courses. Simon is keen to promote fitness and healthy lifestyles for all.
Niamh Morgan commenced her position as Catering Instructor in August 2011. Niamh holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Tourism Management from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) Cathal Brugha Street and a Degree in Business, Hotel and Catering Management achieved in Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Additionally Niamh has a Train the Trainer qualification and brings with her a number of years’ experience working in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Erin commenced her position as Literacy and Numeracy Tutor in April 2015. Erin holds a first class Honours Degree in Education and Training with Dublin City University and is also TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) qualified. Erin teaches Communication Skills and Maths and has experience working with diverse and mixed ability classrooms. Erin is very passionate about the academic progression of her learners.
Gavin started as the Digital Media Instructor in August 2017. Gavin has a B.Eng. in Audio Visual Media Technology and a B.Sc. in Creative Media Technologies from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. He has a numerous amount of experience working with young people through volunteering and mentoring in a Computer Clubhouse, Youth Café and through many other projects with Foróige. Gavin is determined to improve the learners technological skills and to help them with their goals in life.
