The Digital Media class attended the Techspace Creative Tech Fest 2014 (check out last year’s event here) and got to spend a great day hanging out in Google’s HQ, The Foundry. As a class, we will be doing a lot more creative technology projects over the next year as part of the Techspace programme.
On the day, we took part in a number of workshops such as Green Screen, Scratch Programming and played a big role in documenting the day. This meant taking photos and shooting video. The video above was edited by Dylan using some of the footage we shot on the day. It should give you a pretty good idea of what went on: there were demos of loads of cool technology like Google Earth, Lego Robotics and Virtual Reality as well as great talks from the likes of broadcaster and maths educator Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin. There was also an Awards ceremony for young media creators who submitted projects for Adobe Youth Voices. Below is a demo if a 3D printer at work!
Big thanks to Google for hosting us and to the Techspace crew for putting together such a great festival, hopefully next year there’ll be a few Blanch CTC entries for the awards!
